Documenting the ZEDE Framework: A Groundbreaking Research Opportunity

The Central America Freedom Institute (CAFI) invites qualified scholars to author a comprehensive academic analysis of Honduras’s Zone for Employment and Economic Development (ZEDE) framework.

This project marks the first scholarly deep dive into one of the most ambitious governance innovations in Central America.


🔍 About the Project

CAFI will commission up to two books examining the legal foundations, historical development, policy goals, and implementation outcomes of the ZEDE framework, as well as its future sustainability and replicability.

Selected authors will work under the oversight of an independent Book Project Committee, with editorial and technical support provided by leading experts in Central American law and governance.


💰 What We Offer

  • $90,000 USD advance per author
  • 55% royalties on net sales
  • Editorial and marketing support
  • 12-month delivery timeline

👤 Who We’re Looking For

Applicants must have:
✔️ An advanced degree (law, economics, political science, or related field)
✔️ Expertise in Central American governance or development
✔️ A track record of scholarly publications or university-level teaching
✔️ Experience with the ZEDE framework (development, implementation, or analysis)
